the first step

our artist, tani, was scrolling through social media and discovered that her art could be turned into products. easy money, she thought. it hadn't even begun yet, lol.

a STEM student with ZERO background knowledge on business strategies, marketing and content creation. all she knew was sketching and doodling on her notebook (when she was bored in class). 

so she got her iPad and tried sketching something simple but cute. among all her interests, from binge-watching dramas to sleeping, she chose to begin with a cat. she was reminded of her art classes (which she slept through. actually she may have paid attention a little bit.)

a cat could be good for a logo, but she had to first choose a color palette. ofc it's based on her fav color, purple. and for contrasting colors, dark blue and magenta (hope that's the right name...).

hours passed by and she couldn't draw a cat she was confident in. art block, yeah yeah we get it...

... or not. forget a logo, she didn't even know how and where to start a business. a reel makes it seem easy peasy but actually starting one takes a lot of effort (real testimony!). after some research (not using AI), she figured she could stay in her cozy room and actually sell her art without having to deal with inventory taking up space. 

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand...

she sat down, tied her hair up, took her iPad and drew the face of aestaniarts - a cute chubby cat. a quick sign of aestaniarts right next to it.

DONE.

now, she wanted her first design to be original and whimsical in a world of AI slop. what better typography can be used than never lose your whimsy? 

she quickly opened her fav editing app and created a design: purple themed rainbow with an overlay text: NEVER LOSE YOUR WHIMSY. (was it a reminder to her and us?)

next step: finding a place to sell. 

little did she know her first shop would be closed without even lasting a day. 

(wow, should we start writing fiction as a side hustle?)
